Phobias are learnt behaviour from bad experience and can be specific (spiders, flying, etc.) or non-specific (panic attacks, agrophobia, and social phobia). A phobia can stop you doing the things you want to do. They can be triggered by actual events or they can be imagined events. When we have a phobic response we set down templates in the brain, so each time we have a response we set down even more. During Hypnotherapy we disrupt the templates and relearn new ones.
